- <p> After Bette Midler would not chirp her hit Do You Wanna
- Dance for a 1985 Ford commercial, admen hired an ex-Midler
- backup singer to imitate the diva. The star stamped her stiletto
- heels and sued. Last week she finally won the case -- plus
- $400,000. That'll about keep her in sheet music, but the
- principle is what matters. Said the Divine Miss M: "I hope my
- victory will in a small way contribute to higher ethical
- standards in the advertising field." Do you wanna bet?
